“MyGovernmentOnline” Software Launch

The City of Temple is excited to announce the launch of “MyGovernmentOnline” permitting and inspection software on Monday, March 5th, 2018.  The software will enhance the planning case and permit application submittal, plan review and inspection experience for owners, engineers, design professionals, contractors and citizen applicants through convenient online services. In all, contractors and residents will have the ability to:

•Apply online for construction permits and planning projects including zoning, subdivision platting and variance cases
•Pay permit fees online with Visa, Discover and MasterCard
•Submit plans and documents “paperless” in PDF format
•Track application progress up to permit issuance or planning project decision
•View and print copies of review comment letters and project drawing comments
•Submit revisions of planning documents, review responses and planning case statuses
•View and print copies of approved building plans
•Request inspections online
•View and print completed inspection reports
•Receive real-time e-mail or telephone call notifications when an inspection is completed

After March 5th, everyone is urged to take the time to download a copy of the “MyGovernmentOnline” customer portal instruction document from the city’s website. Interested persons may create a free customer portal account if one has not already been created for use in a different jurisdiction using the “MyGovernmentOnline” My Permit Now project software.  Contact information for each individual associated with a project is requested including email address, postal address, and phone number and must be completed and confirmed during the review process. Individuals associated with a project and utilizing an account include:

•Site developers
•Deeded property owners
•Civil engineers
•General Contractors

The “MyGovernmentOnline” software will allow applicants the opportunity to apply for permits and planning projects online rather than traveling to city hall. Please note that any documents required to be submitted with an application, such as architectural plans, civil plans, surveys, development order, etc. must be uploaded in PDF format when submitting your application. 

When requesting permit inspections online, the policy will remain that you must submit your inspection request prior to 1:30 PM to have an inspection performed the next business day.  City inspectors will enter inspection results while in the field to ensure permit inspection results via e-mail or through the project’s customer portal in near real-time.

Planning project review results, requests for revisions and completeness reviews will be emailed in near real-time as well.

In order to allow us to perform the necessary data conversion from our current system to “MyGovernmentOnline”, please note that on Thursday, March 1st and Friday, March 2nd, the permit and planning offices will be unable to accept or process applications.  We encourage citizens and contractors needing to submit an application next week to do so not later than Wednesday, February 28.
