Temple Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that three staff members competed in the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) State Maintenance Rodeo held over the weekend in El Paso. The Department’s Irrigation team, comprised of David Cobb and Kenneth Chapman, competed in the category of Irrigation Assembly. Facing some stiff competition, the duo took first place among several statewide teams. With a winning time of 2:15, the pair brought the championship home to Temple.Parks Maintenance Crewmember, Christopher Waugh, competed in the Zero Turn Mowing Obstacle Course against more than 15 other experienced competitors. Waugh placed in the top five for the event.“Prior to the state competition, we believed we had some of the best Parks employees in the state of Texas and now it is official,” said Chuck Ramm, Asst. Director of Temple Parks & Recreation. “Every day, rain or shine, they ensure our parks are clean, look beautiful and are functioning properly for our citizens.
